Police officers, cadets, students of police academies.
Activities
Increase the level of knowledge among police officials about human rights and groups vulnerable to HIV and improve cooperation of police with civil society organizations that provide services to vulnerable groups.
Project outcomes
- Updated and deepened knowledge of 32 teachers and instructors of Kyiv National Academy of Internal Affairs (NAIA) and Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (KNUIA) on prevention of socially dangerous diseases (HIV, TB, hepatites), combating discrimination towards vulnerable groups (such as injection drug users, sex workers, prisoners and HIV-positive people) with special focus on gender aspects during 2 trainings of trainers – one in Kyiv and one in Kharkiv.
- 46 cadets of NAIA and KNUIA were trained on HIV prevention and other socially dangerous diseases and the rights of vulnerable groups within the 3 trainings.
- over 60 cadets and instructors of NAIA and KNUIA took part in 4 educational site visits to local NGOs that provide services to the most vulnerable populations in Kyiv and Kharkiv cities.
- 3 informational and educational materials were developed and published:
- Brochure “Brochure “Observance of human rights of patients of the ART and SMT programme”
- Brochure “Observance of human rights of women from vulnerable groups”
- Manual “Gender in psychological and sociological research”
