Improving communication system among key populations in Ukraine

Project goal:

  1. Improvement of the communication system among the leaders of key communities that are part of the Country Key Population Platform and represent key communities in the National Council on TB and HIV/AIDS, to ensure a coherent decision-making process, a delegation of authority and timely exchange of information.
  2. Improvement and/or development of communication algorithms within key communities that allow effective sharing of information between community leaders and community members and provide a clear representation of local community representatives in the decision-making process.

Target groups:

Representatives of key communities – people living with drug addiction, sex workers, LGBTIs and former prisoners and their leaders/activists.

Expected outcomes:

Short-term results of the project implementation:

  • A system of effective resolution of conflict situations in communities through mediation is created.
  • Communities are aware of all community-related decisions, including the decision of the National Council on TB and HIV/AIDS.
  • Community-based communication plans are the work tool which is mandatory for use.

Long-term results of the project implementation:

  • The system of communication and delegation among key communities works successfully and transparently for the maximal involvement of community representatives in decision-making processes at the national level.
