Target

Police officers, cadets, students of police academies.

Activities

Increase the level of knowledge among police officials about human rights and groups vulnerable to HIV  and improve cooperation of police with civil society organizations that provide services to vulnerable groups.

Achievements

  • Trained a team of 19 teachers and instructors of Kyiv National Academy of Internal Affairs (NAIA) on HIV prevention, harm reduction and observance of human rights of key populations.
  • 19 trainers held 19 training sessions for 380 cadets of NAIA.
  • Made alterations to NAIA curriculum for cadets on drug prevention including issues on HIV prevention, harm reduction and observance of human rights of key populations. Based on the curriculum provided education for 150 cadets. At least 100 specialists were trained within the courses of excellence.
  • 2 informational and educational materialswere developed and published:

– Brochure “Human rights. Guidelines for the police on how to work with people living with HIV and people who use drugs”.
– Manual “Drug prevention for law enforcement”.
