
On 6-8 September 2017 was held the second international practical seminar “Methods of rehabilitation in the educational colonies for minors” in the state institution “Kremenchug educational colony” within the framework of the Pompidou Group of the Council of Europe project.
Experts from the Netherlands, AFEW-Ukraine project manager Iryna Nerubaieva, employees of Kremenchug and Pryluky educational colonies and NGO representatives took part in the seminar.
The colony staff was made possible to hold the seminar. During the ISPC “Effective approaches to working with adolescents with substance use experience”, which AFEW-Ukraine conducted in 2015, they initiated cooperation with Dutch and Ukrainian colleagues. In the same year, the staff of the Public Health Fund conducted the first introductory family group conference for colleagues from the Kremenchug colony within the framework of the project “Bridging the Gaps: Health and Rights for Key Populations”.
During the seminar, Iryna Nerubaieva made a presentation on the situation
with adolescents who use drugs in Ukraine, told about the specifics of working with most-at-risk adolescents, analyzed key problems in working with children and young people at risk and presented the achievements of the project “Bridging the Gaps: Health and Rights for Key Populations” in Ukraine. Iryna also showed the training cartoon “Family Group Conferences”, created by AFEW-Ukraine.
