On June 30, the project “Expanding immediate intervention model to ensure adherence to HIV and hepatitis C (\u201cHCV\u201d) treatment and improve <\/a>quality of life for HIV-positive women in Kyiv” was completed. The project was funded by Gilead Sciences Europe Ltd, and our unchanging partners in its implementation were CO “100% of life. Kyiv region” and Positive Women of the World (PWW).

This project became a logical continuation of the project “Immediate intervention to improve health of HIV-positive women in Kyiv<\/a>“, which AFEW-Ukraine<\/em> together with partners implemented in 2014-2015. Within the framework of this project, a self-help group of HIV-positive women from Kyiv, “Kyianka+” (transl. as \u201cKyiv city woman\u201d<\/em>), was created. The main purpose of this project was to empower positive women in Kyiv and to improve the quality of their life. The project was so much in-demand and successful that after the negotiations Gilead made an exception and financed its improved and expanded version. The main purpose was to empower HIV-positive women in Kyiv, improve the quality of their life and adherence to treatment and overcome social exclusion if HIV positive females.<\/p>\n

In June 2016 the project started and now we are summarising \"\"

“We have 154 achievements in the project in terms of project participants since the most important achievements are changes in the life of each woman. Perhaps they are not so big and visible from the outside, but it\u2019s the fact that the life of each participant of the “Kyianka+” has changed \u2013 it can be seen and felt both at the meetings of the group and in the online Facebook group<\/em>,” says Ir<\/strong>yna Nerubaieva<\/strong>, AFEW-Ukraine\u2019s<\/em> Project Manager, who managed the project.<\/p>\n
